An experienced property lawyer, Kelly is well known for a straightforward, practical approach to complex commercial issues and for delivering results.
Kelly has particular expertise in the areas of commercial landlord & tenant as well as property development. Her experience is broad, ranging from managing property portfolios to commercial acquisitions and from licensing premises to academy conversions. Kelly has detailed insight into planning law, including the lawful use of premises and section 106 obligations in the context of development sites.
Kelly recognises that continuity of business and project deadlines are essential for her clients, and works hard to ensure that her approach to delivering legal solutions complements the clients’ needs. Kelly’s specialisms include the food sector and GP practices as well as advising on the complex issues that arise on the management of property portfolios together with refinancing projects for either a single acquisition, a series of purchases or funding for developments.

Qualifying as a solicitor in 2001, Kelly gained extensive property experience in private practice and as a solicitor for a City Council before joining a respected regional law firm in 2004, where she built up their commercial property practice in Peterborough and Cambridge. Kelly joined Barr Ellison as a Partner in 2021 and leads the Commercial Property Team. Kelly was appointed Managing Partner in June 2024.
