The best way to provide for your family, friends and other beneficiaries is through a valid Will. It is important to put a Will in place to determine who will benefit from your estate and how your estate will be distributed on your death.
If you have significant assets, it is also important to have a Will for legitimate tax planning purposes.
You should also review your Will regularly to ensure it is in line with your current wishes.
Do you need a Will?
You will need to make a Will if you answer yes to any one or more of the following questions:
- Do you have children under 18 years of age?
- Do you own your own home?
- Cohabiting or remarried with children from an earlier marriage?
- Do you have assets greater than £325,000?
- Do you envisage paying for care?
- Do you own a business or agricultural assets?
